The beginnings (2016 - 2022)

I majored in mechatronics engineering and spent 5 years learning and developing a strong foundation in technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving. During my studies, I also took on multiple freelance digital projects (instructional design, website creation, English tutoring, SEO writing, etc.) on the side and continued doing so after graduation.

I always knew that the type of work that suits me the best would be something cross-functional, generalist, multidisciplinary… something that is not narrowly specialized. I didn’t know what, how, and where I could find it, but taking on different gigs was my way of doing so at the time.

The realization (2022 - 2024)

I started my 1st corporate job as a product manager in a manufacturing company. I learned cross-functional coordination as well as working with constraints and different processes. But, I realized that I want more than overseeing the process of manufacturing physical products that are mostly predefined. I had no ownership over why we should create something, who we were creating it for, and how we could create it and/or make it better.

I want more ownership of the problem and product. I decided to quit and transition into another type of career that fits my goals, interests, and set of skills.

The transition phase (2024 - 2026)

I had to navigate the ambiguity of funding my transition through freelance work again while exploring new career paths…

I eventually discovered that software product management brought together all the things I love doing: identifying problems, understanding needs, making trade-offs, solving problems, and building something that creates value.

Since then, I’ve been actively building my understanding of software product management — from product discovery and user research to Agile methodologies, prioritization, MVP definition, etc.

This period has completely reshaped the way I approach work, even the same work I was always doing. During all the projects and jobs I took during this phase, I was able to spot a problem and build a product around it.

The next chapter (2026 →)

Today, I'm bringing together everything I've learned and am ready to show up for the right opportunity.

In the meantime, I'm continuing to build, experiment, and share—while looking for the opportunity to bring my perspective into a product team.
